sunscreen
insect repellent
money for off-farm meals and other expenses(laundry, snacks, souvenirs, etc)
face mask, hand sanitizer, & other CDC recommended items during covid pandemic
sense of humor
lots of smiles!!!
Only bring one suitcase of items with you. Space is limited & most times you will be sharing your sleeping quarters.
(International visitors can acquire many of these items here in the US, rather than having to carry them)
We have rubber boots in various sizes, a large assortment of hats, & work gloves for our helpers to use while on the farm. So no need to bring these items with you.
Do NOT bring a ton of things with you! You will probably be sharing sleeping quarters with at least one other person so pack lightly(no more than one suitcase). Do NOT bring a carload of belongings or several suitcases as that may infringe on the space of the person with whom you are sharing space. If you are leaving your apartment/house/etc to embark on a life of volunteering on the road, put your belongings in storage! Do not pack things with which to decorate your living space. Even if you will be staying long-term(3+ weeks), don’t bring so much stuff that you need extra space to put it. Keep in mind, as you pack your things for your stay with us, that you will probably be sharing sleeping quarters with other people.
